PDO Thread Lift
tighter, fresher, more youthful look
WHAT IS A POD THREAD LIFT
A PDO Thread lift is a non-invasive treatment to help loose and sagging skin. A more detailed description is that they are absorbable surgical sutures composed of polydioxanone. These sutures have been used in cardiac surgeries for the past 60 years or more and are the safest materials to be implanted in the body.
HOW DOES IT WORKS
PDO thread lift is a procedure that involves the insertion of a blunt-tip cannula with a very fine absorbable polydioxanone threads into the skin or the subcutaneous fat of the specific areas to be treated. The use of a blunt-tip cannula provides lower risks of bruising and swelling as it does not damage any blood vessels during the procedure.
The tension in the PDO threads will provide a lifting effect by pulling the skin together. The effect will be tightening of sagging skin, especially in the brows, jawline, neck, and décolleté. Once the suture threads are introduced into the skin, it triggers the human skin’s natural self-healing abilities. You will be surprised at your skin’s ability to naturally heal itself.
The healing process strengthens the skin and is further enhanced by the increase in blood flow to the dermis. When the threads dissolve in the months following the procedure, the bundles of collagen that were formed will keep the skin tight, supple, and rejuvenated.
ARE THERE ANY RISK OR SIDE EFFECT
Thread lifts are considered a low-risk procedure with minimal recovery time. The specialised needles allow small areas to be tackled effectively. As there are no incisions, stitches are not required and scarring is unlikely. There’s a 15 to 20 percent chance of complications, including dimpling. Possible complications are minor and can easily be corrected.
WHICH AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH THE PDO THREADS
Most popular treatment areas are the brows, cheeks (midface),
jowls, and the upper neck. However, Thread Lift can be performed
virtually anywhere on the body, such as to lift loose skin on the upper
arms, stomach, thighs and around the knees.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A THREAD LIFT
Thread-lift treatments result in an instant and natural looking improvement in the appearance of the skin. A process of natural protein synthesis then begins af ter about 10-14 days. Over the subsequent weeks results will continue to improve, peaking at around 6 months and lasting for up to 2 years as your own body produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Making this form of non surgical facelift a very long lasting treatment. The thread itself is completely biodegradable and dissolves within 12 weeks, after which new collagen has formed around the thread to continue to support results, maintaining a smooth and supple texture of the skin.
